Bushings

Bushings are components used in mechanical systems to provide a cushioning effect and reduce friction between two moving parts. They are typically made of rubber, polyurethane, or nylon and are shaped like a cylindrical sleeve.

Bushings are used to isolate vibration and noise, absorb shock, and reduce wear and tear on parts. They can be found in a wide range of applications, including vehicles, industrial machinery, and household appliances.

For example, in a vehicle's suspension system, bushings are used to connect the control arms to the frame and absorb the shock and vibration from the road. In an electric motor, bushings are used to support the rotor and reduce friction between the rotor and the stator.

Over time, bushings can wear out and lose their effectiveness, leading to increased noise, vibration, and potential damage to the surrounding components. Regular inspection and replacement of worn bushings is important to maintain optimal performance and extend the life of the mechanical system.
